Koti & Keittiö – Room for Inspiration

We were approached by the good people at Sek with a neat stop motion film idea for Finnish home decor magazine Koti & Keittiö. So instead of making it easy for ourselves we came up with an idea to add live action to the mix. Oh and did we mention moving camera and lights? What seemed unlikely to begin with was made possible by a great effort by a wonderful bunch of people, out of only a few have been mentioned in the credits. So a HUGE thank you to you all, wherever you are!

Vr 150 v. – Mielikuvitusystävä (Imaginary Friend)

Taivaan ja 7th Heavenin kanssa toteutettu VR:n 150v. juhlavuoden filmi kertoo Maijun Suuresta Matkasta ja sen varrelta löytyneistä uusista ystävistä.

A tiny epic of a film about a little girl, Maiju, and her Great Voyage. Quoting Bilbo Baggins: “It’s a dangerous business, Frodo, going out of your door. You step into the Road, and if you don’t keep your feet, there is no knowing where you might be swept off to.”

We’ve been shortlisted.

Films we directed for Ahlgren’s Bilar, Toyota, and OP (below) have been shortlisted in the film category for Vuoden Huiput (Best of the Year) advertising and design awards in Finland. The ceremony takes place in May.

Nokia’s website ‘Swipe’ has been shortlisted in the digital design category. Gang of Three directed the slomo film (below) for the site.

Additionally, Bilar and another animated piece for Hackman (below) have also been shortlisted in Voitto-gaala, a separate tv ad award ceremony, in the ’special effects’ and web advertising categories respectively.

This is the trailer for Samuli Valkama’s upcoming feature film debut “Love & Other Troubles” – “Hulluna Saraan”. The film is an “almost” romantic comedy about a boy and a dad, who both fall in love with the same woman. The main cast includes Emilie de Ravin, Ville Virtanen and Jussi Nikkilä. The Premiere in Finland is in January 2012.
